Change of eligibility criteria for the recruitment of educators / teachers in Education department Govt. of the Punjab

A decision has been taken after hearing a lot of complaint against the eligibility criteria for the recruitment / selection  / appointment of educators / teachers. It was announced earlier in advertisement that only the candidates with specific combination of science subjects can apply against the specific seats, but now it has been decided that the candidate who has completed BS / BA (honors / hons) in any one science subjects i.e Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology etc can apply for the recruitement of educators. Furthermore, it has been decided by the competent authority of the education department Govt. of Punjab that candidates who has passed their two years B.Sc in any one of the science subjects can also apply for the recruitement as educators / teachers. Extension in last date of submission of applications for educators

Punjab Education Department announced different post of teaching / educators in the Punjab Province. In district Rawalpindi 1376 posts are announced as vacant and candidates can submit their applications up to 05-12-2011 ( 5 December 2011). According to the education department of Punjab all these posts will be filled on merit keeping in view of the priority of the candidate however there will be marks for Tehsil candidates and person having professional qualification. Initially these post are being filled on contract basis. The contract period will be three years from the date of joining. Furthermore, the candidate must have to appear in test / interview conducted by the department for the selection of the educators / teachers. And the selected candidates will go through an initial teaching and computer training after passing the training they will be granted appointment  letters. However criteria for the selection of the teachers / educators this time is a little tough because education department of punjab asked for the graduate with science subjects while maths, stat and economics etc are not being considered as science subjects so these candidates would not be able to apply for the educators posts
